Rosedale Alarm, ANC Meeting, and More!
Dear Rosedale Community,
I know you all agree with me that the alarm going off all night now twice in one week at the Rosedale Recreation Center is unacceptable (let alone three times in the past few weeks.) It should not take over 10 hours to turn off an alarm. So many of us, my family included, either could not sleep or were awakened by the alarm. I spent both times constantly on the phone reaching out to Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR), Department of General Services (DGS), the Mayor’s office and a number of DC Council offices trying to raise the urgency. This Tuesday at the ANC 7D meeting (info below), I will introduce a letter to send to DPR and DGS urging swift repairs of the alarm system; as well as other repairs at the Rosedale Recreation Center. As always, you can reach me at 202-455-6238 or 7d06@anc.dc.gov.
ANC 7D Meeting Tuesday, Sept. 10 at 6:30 p.m.
Join the ANC 7D community virtually Tuesday night. I will be introducing two letters, one calling for solving the lack of trash pick up in the alley of Kramer St/Rosedale St. and for repairs to the Rosedale Recreation Center. If you are having trash pick up issues on your block, please let me know.

Opening of the Miner Early Childhood Education Center
I was honored to attend the ribbon cutting for the new Early Childhood Education Center at Miner Elementary. It was especially moving to hear the stories of those who attended school in the building fifty years ago. It was great to see students and teachers excited for this beautiful investment. If you have not walked by, it is amazing what they have done with this historic building. This is a great investment for our community and excited for the whole Miner Elementary Community.
Save The Date: Volunteer Fest
Come join me on September 28th at the Rosedale Recreation Center to learn about some amazing non-profits and community groups in the community and how you can volunteer. If you have a non-profit or community group, let me know! More details soon.
Kramer Street Lot/Apogee Farms
As DC Water continues the work on the sewage pipe, I want the community to know that I am waiting final confirmation. but it seems that Apogee Farms has returned all the comments related to the permits except one that will be finalized on Monday. This is a great step forward. I will share once I get final confirmation and next steps.
